This course will be conducted via lectures and discussions. Cases will be discussed from time to time. The basic aim of discussing cases is to provide an introduction and guide to your own reading, which should be as extensive as possible.
6.0 ASSESSMENT
Each student will be graded as follows:
Class Participation : 25%
Individual Assignments : 25%
Case Study : 10%
Final Exam : 40%
Total : 100%

1.0 SYNOPSIS
We often hear phrases like 'liberalization', 'globalization', 'falling of trade barriers', 'worldwide integration', 'ongoing growth', 'human capital', 'merger and acquisition', 'entry modes', 'spectacular increases', 'continues rapid advancement', 'international strategic management', etc.
The International Business course intends to introduce and highlight several conceptual and strategic issues that underlie international business. The course consists of concepts, theories, and activities in international business. The course will cover six main sections: (1) Overview of International Business; (2) Country Differences; (3) Global Trade and Investment Environment; (4) Global Monetary System (5) Strategy and Structure of International Business; and (6) International Business Operations.
2.0 COURSE OBJECTIVES
The International Business course intends to introduce and highlight several conceptual and strategic issues that underlie international business. - To identify and describe the basic forms of international business activities
- To evaluate the impact of the political and economic characteristics of the world's various marketplaces on businesses
- To use the modern firm based theories of international trade to describe global strategies adopted by businesses
- To describe and categorize the different forms of international investment
