Dear all, Pn. Noraini has informed that the upcoming 3rd semester courses are as follows:

Classes will commence this 13th June & 14th June for Strategic Management and 20th June & 21st June for Managerial Economics.

1.0 PURPOSE
Corporate finance incorporates both the short term and long term knowledge of financial management to assist companies in their decision making. This course encircles around the development of a framework for evaluating financial decisions made by corporate managers with an emphasis on working capital management, analysis of capital investment projects, and debt policies via capital structure decisions. This course emphasizes the role of the financial manager as decision maker, and stresses for managerial input and judgement. Therefore, this course is designed to enhance the overall managerial understanding of corporate finance to the many different types of students with varying backgrounds.

2.0 OBJECTIVES
This course is designed to:
2.1 Enable students to answer the following questions:
i. What long term investments should a company take on?
ii. Where will a firm acquire long term financing to pay for its long term investment?
iii. How will a company manage its short term assets and liabilities to ensure sufficient
resources for its day-to-day operations?
2.2 Enable students to understand the principles of corporate finance down to its core, so that
they would be able to cope with changes and problems that would arise in the future.
2.3 Provide an integrated view of the theory and practice of corporate finance applicable to real
life situations.

3.0 TEACHING / LEARNING METHOD
It is vital for the students to (1) review the relevant chapters prior to class, (2) be able to take smart notes, and (3) participate actively in class. Students are also encouraged to (4) share their professional experiences and incorporate these in their learning. Students are also advised to (5) attempt all end-of-chapter questions or problems in the text.

4.0 COURSE ASSESSMENTS
Students will be assessed based on the following components:
i. Class Assessment : 10%
ii. Quizzes: 10%
iii. Midterm: 30%
iv. Group Project: 20%
v. Final: 30%
TOTAL: 100%

1.0 COURSE DESCRIPTION AND OBJECTIVES
The purpose of the course is to provide a comprehensive understanding of leadership in organizations. The course focuses on managerial leadership in which several aspects of this leadership will be addressed accordingly. Theories and research findings on leadership in organizations will be selected and made as bases of discussions throughout the course. After completing this course, students will be able:
i. To evaluate the nature and dynamics of managing and leading an organization;
ii. To examine the behaviors patterns of individual and group in organizational settings;
iii. To develop the human resource and leadership skills for organizational efficiency and
effectiveness;
iv. To discuss the appropriateness of leadership lessons and challenges from different
perspectives and context.
